How Does The SMS Text System Work?

 

When you sign up, you will create a keyword, which is your specific code identifier within the Quiext system. Customers or group members use that keyword when joining your program. You are the only one that can use your specific keyword in our system. Customers or group members Opt-in (subscribe) to your program in one of two ways.

 

The quickest is for them to send a text message to our shared short code 41513, with your keyword in the message area. Shortly after they send the text, they ideally will get a text back thanking them for joining, and at your discretion, also receive a coupon or other form of reward. They simply respond to ads on your posters, tabletop tents, flyers, etc., and automatically get added to your database.

In less than a minute, customer receives welcome message plus reward.

 

Another way you might solicit potential subscribers is running promotions that require them to fill out a form that will include their cell number. You state on the form that they are consenting to be added to your database as well as being eligible for a drawing. You then manually enter those numbers into your database.

 

By now I am sure you realize that the most important part of your SMS program is growing your database. The more proactive you are in doing this, the quicker you can see better results when you run future campaigns. You can then send out text messages to all the subscribers in your database at once, or only to specific groups.

 

The most important part of the whole process is to get your customers' permission to send them text messages. It would be disastrous to have a customer feel like he was being spammed by you, and there are laws against it as well. Cell phones are very personal to people. This means that they will be extra unhappy if they receive unsolicited messages, but it also means that they will pay more attention to the messages that they agree to receive. This is what makes text message advertising so powerful. The collection of the database of customers can be accomplished in many ways:

  • In store - have them send in the opt-in message from their cell phone to the short code with your dedicated keyword

  • Online - sign up at www.yourwebsite.com

  • Email - email your customers about your new VIP club and include information on how they can join.

  • Phone - call your customers directly and invite them to join

  • Direct mail - send your customers an invitation to join or include club details in your next mail ad

  • Print communications - include sign-up details in your newspaper ads, flyers and other printed materials.

  • In person - invite your customers to join when they are in your place of business.

Once a database of opt-in customers has been collected, you are ready to begin the Text Message Marketing Campaign.

  • Create Message to send Customers. Remember, text messages cannot be longer than 160 characters.

  • Choose Recipients from the database of customers that you have been collecting.

  • Send the Messages immediately or schedule them to be sent at a later time.

These 3 steps are simple and straightforward to complete. This system does not require any special training whatsoever.
